Carolina Spring – Savannah Norton

“She turned to the sunlight
    And shook her yellow head,
And whispered to her neighbor:
‘Winter is dead.’” – A.A. Milne

Mountainscapes of NC

“Climb the mountains and get their good tidings. Nature’s peace will flow into you as sunshine flows into trees. The winds will blow their own freshness into you, and the storms their energy, while cares will drop away from you like the leaves of Autumn.”

– John Muir

The Great Smokey Mountains have always been one of my favorite places to visit, explore, and recharge.  I captured these images in the very early spring, in a valley near Cherokee, NC where the cabins and the woods seem frozen in time.

“You have never lived ’til you’ve almost died. For those who fight for it, life has a flavor the protected will never know.” – Unknown

“We sleep safe in our beds because rough men stand ready in the night to visit violence on those who would do us harm.”  – George Orwell

Just After Midnight in the Garden

Savannah, Georgia has always been a favorite getaway for me.  Whether for a quick weekend escape or an extended vacation, I’ve always had a great time there.  The history beckons, the culture throbs, and the underlying weirdness of the city forever holds a place in my heart.  This past weekend, I was able to grab some snapshots from the rooftop of the building I stayed in, as well as from the ground as I tromped around looking for trouble.

Enjoy.

Syr plays Tartan Day 2016

If you haven’t seen the photos from Tartan Day 2016, you may not know what an awesome time THAT was.  Columbia, SC continues to be the hot spot for festivals and music/cultural events in the Southeast US.   One of Columbia’s own local bands is nearing that tipping point where a band springs from its humble roots into the stratosphere of stardom.   That band is Syr, a Celtic Folk Rock band with melodic harmonies led by front man Kyle MacCallum and his sister Laurel, backed up instrumentally by Timothy Strevens, Emily Bracey, Jacob McCleery, and Kelly Huff.

The photos I captured are of their performance at Tartan Day, as well as the spontaneous jam session that occurred when they were invited to take the stage with nationally known Tuatha Dea.

Debut – Savannah Norton

Welcome to our newest Alchemist Imaging model, the alluringly beautiful Savannah Norton!

Savannah is a Gamecock Girl from Columbia SC!  Her energy and positive attitude is contagious and we know she’s destined for HUGE success in the near future!  Congrats and welcome to the Alchemist Imaging family Savannah!

Tartan Day South 2016!

Columbia Historic Speedway hosts one of the best Celtic Festivals annually, in what has become a family oriented tradition for many families across the Southeast, including my own.  This year, Alchemist Imaging was pleased to be a part of the action in an official capacity, as we were invited to be the official providers of photography for the even on Saturday this past weekend.

Big thanks to John Banks and all the vendors and the participants and bands who made the Tartan Day South 2016 festival a huge success!

So without further adieu, enjoy the photos, and put it on your calendars for next year!
